The purpose of this research is to examine the first subject of the social studies.
I found a supplementary reader as the first subject of the social studies.
The teachers of the elementary school had an effort, and a book was written.
This book was made by the teacher s zeal. I compared the supplementary reader issued in the
28th year of Showa and the 29th year of Showa. Ideas are seen by these books in the description.
The contents of the book changed in the contents which were easy for a child to understand. We
must not forget the thing of this book in the history of the Japanese education.
